I will be back home with the Mobile Inner City church of Christ, serving as their minister, and doing the work of an evangelist in the community again, starting January 2010. My wife Jane and I prayed that God would send us back to Mobile, and He did! For the last year, Jane has been working toward her certification requirements to be a school teacher and will arrive in Mobile, Alabama ready to teach! Please pray that her life long desire to be a school teacher for pre-school through third grade will be fulfilled. During this year I started the pursuit of a Bible degree at Heritage Christian University (HCU) and will continue to do so via their distant learning program. HCU is a great University that has a mission to train Christians to become effective communicators of the Gospel. If your congregation is not already involved with supporting this school then I suggest you do. They are truly mission minded when it comes to preaching the Gospel of Christ all over the World. I served as the outreach minister for the Ethridge church of Christ in Ethridge, Tennessee during my time living on campus at HCU. If you ever have a chance to visit with them I encourage you to do so. The church in Ethridge, TN is a great group of folks! They have been very kind and loving toward Jane and myself, and have committed to continue to support my work in the inner city of Mobile. An outreach ministry that brings 50 plus people from the community to a Bible study each month was started based on a mission strategy I used in Mobile. The outreach ministry was turned over to very capable people who are committed to continue the work I began there. Please keep the outreach ministry in your prayers. As the Mobile Inner City church of Christ enters into a new era there is excitement in the air! I have spoken with many of our supporters, elders of local congregations, and people who have been committed to the Lord's work in the inner city of Mobile and they are all excited about what lays ahead. Please keep the Inner City church of Christ and the Lord's work there in your prayers as we move forward to glorify and honor God. |
